Come Work With Us on Flinders Island
We’re always interested in meeting good people who would like to be part of what we’re building at Outscape and On Island Time.
Our team is growing on Flinders Island, and we’re particularly keen to hear from people interested in housekeeping and cleaning roles, as well as chefs and people with a genuine love of food.
Some roles may be full-time. Others might be part-time, casual, school-hours or a few regular shifts each week.
What matters most to us is finding people who care about what they do, enjoy being part of a small team and take pride in doing things well.
Housekeeping & Cleaning
The little things matter.
A beautifully made bed. Fresh linen. A spotless bathroom. A property that feels considered and ready from the moment a guest walks through the door.
Across Outscape and our On Island Time properties, we have opportunities for people interested in:
- Full-time housekeeping
- Part-time work
- Casual cleaning
- School-hours work
- Regular weekly shifts
- Housekeeping leadership roles
The work can include preparing guest accommodation, bed making, cleaning, linen and laundry, restocking, property checks and helping make sure every space is ready to welcome its next guests.
Experience is welcomed, but it isn’t everything.
We’re looking for people who are reliable, practical, organised and who notice the small things. People who take pride in their work and enjoy being part of a supportive local team.
Chefs & Food People
Food is a big part of the Outscape experience.
We’re interested in hearing from chefs who are excited by seasonal cooking, great produce and the opportunity to help tell the story of Flinders Island through food.
Our menus are shaped by what is happening around us — the season, the weather, the tides and what our island producers have available.
You could be working with local beef and lamb, seafood, wallaby, vegetables, herbs, fruit and produce grown, caught and made here.
Our kitchen team works alongside Creative Director of Food Darren Purchese, with a focus on generous, thoughtful food, strong relationships with producers and making the most of what the island gives us.
We’re looking for people who are confident in a kitchen, calm under pressure, generous in the way they work with others and interested in provenance and seasonal cooking.
You don’t need a long list of famous restaurants behind you.
You do need to care about food, people and doing things properly.
Why Flinders Island?
Working here is a little different.
There is space. Wild weather. Quiet roads. Extraordinary produce. Beaches without crowds and a community where relationships matter.
For some people, island life won’t be for them.
For the right people, it can be a pretty special place to live and work.
Interested?
You don’t need to wait for the perfect job advertisement.
