As a third-generation member of one of the island’s longest-running family businesses, Chris has spent a lifetime around the systems that keep a remote community moving. His family’s journey began with a small general store and post office established in the early 1920s before evolving into the transport operation that today delivers everything from groceries and medical supplies to livestock and farming equipment across the island.

Chris carries with him an extraordinary knowledge of how Flinders Island has changed over time. From the first shallow-draft trading vessels arriving at Whitemark to today’s freight barges crossing Bass Strait, he shares stories that reveal how resilience, patience and community have always been essential parts of island life.
